Opening Hours 2024
Extended opening hours in parts of Thailand
All bars and clubs with a legal licence between Pattaya 3rd Road and Beach Road and between Pattaya North Road and Bali Hai have been granted the right to be open until 04:00. The entertainment venues in Naklua and Jomtien as well as in the dark side of Pattaya cannot (yet) benefit from the new opening hours.
Khaosod reports on its X (formerly Twitter) account on December 16th:
With pubs, bars & nightlife establishment in Bangkok, Phuket, Chonburi, Chiang Mai and Koh Samui now able to open until 4am, new regulations require patrons be tested before leaving the establishment at 4am & if found to have alcohol level of more than 50mg the person will be ask to sit and wait to sober up or seek a chauffeured transportation home. The legal drinking age remains at 20. In addition, at least according to Interior Minister Anutin Charnvirakul, surveillance cameras with facial recognition are being installed in nightclubs to record all visitors.
Arrest warrant for former Pattaya Mayor Updated News
Thailand's Criminal Court for Corruption and Misconduct Cases in Region 2 has issued an arrest warrant for former Culture Minister and Pattaya Mayor Itthiphol Khunpluem.
Update (October 9th, 2023): Today, former Minister of Culture and Mayor of Pattaya Ittipol Khunpluem was arrested at Suvarnabhumi Airport.
